Four New Things to Try in 2014

You know what they say, ‘a new year, a new you!’ Take advantage of the fresh start with these four new things to try in 2014.

1. Learn a new skill
Anyone and everyone in business knows professional development is something we must do—making time for it is the hard part. Check out this list awesome list of 24 invaluable skills to learn for free online from Buzzfeed, which lists everything from mastering excel to learning Photoshop.

2. Blog (more than once)

We all know why it is important to blog, but some of us just can’t seem to keep up with it! Why not commit to blogging consistently in 2014? Try creating a blogging editorial calendar to keep organized.

3. Stop Procrastinating
As the English poet Edward Young said, “procrastination is the thief of time”. Procrastination hurts us in all parts of our lives, professionally and personally.  This year, commit to getting things done as soon as you can.

4. Reflect
Use the start of 2014 as an opportunity to reflect upon last year and take not of what work and what didn’t. Use this to improve your performance in 2014
