A simple way to show you care [8 Weeks of Thanks]

As part of our “8 Weeks of Thanks” celebration, each week, we’re highlighting a different way to give thanks to people in our communities, businesses, or personal lives. It’s a way to finish the year on a high note and create a ripple effect of positivity throughout our communities.

Last week, we kicked off the 8 Weeks of Thanks by donating food to Blessings in a Backpack here in Frederick, an organization that provides food to children over weekends and school breaks when school meals are unavailable.

This week, we’re highlighting another powerful way to give, which costs little money and little time as well: writing a handwritten note!

In the days of virtual communication (email, texting, and social media), receiving a handwritten note is a special (and rare!) treat to receive. This simple act of kindness can go a long way to show someone how much they mean to you.

This week, I’m writing a handwritten note to a client and friend to tell her how much I appreciate her! (Bonus: You can also purchase a notecard from a local Main Street shop, so you’re also supporting them in the process.)

Looking for inspiration about who to send a note to? A great way to start is by brainstorming the people who have made a difference in your world and community. For example:

  • Family
  • Friends
  • Employees
  • Colleagues
  • Customers/Clients
  • Vendors
  • Volunteers

If you’re inspired to join us, we encourage you to send a handwritten note to someone who’s made a difference in your world… and let them know that!

Have you been inspired to give thanks? Who could you show thanks to in your world? Please share in the comments down below!

‘Til next time,
Sandy
