We’re kicking off 8 Weeks of Thanks! Join us?

Here at Platinum PR, we want to encourage you to finish the year on a high note. It’s been a hard year for all of us. However, through acts of kindness and generosity, we all have the power to create a ripple effect of positivity throughout our communities.

So, we’re kicking off 8 Weeks of Thanks!

Each week, we’ll highlight a different way to give thanks to the people in our communities, businesses, or personal lives.

We’ll be sharing how we’re giving our thanks in each newsletter. You can also follow us on Facebook here and Instagram here.

This week, Sophie, our Director of Operations, is giving to Blessings in a Backpack here in Frederick. Blessings in a Backpack provides non-perishable food each weekend and over school breaks to children when school meals are unavailable.

Here’s what Sophie had to share:

“Given the lockdown and total virtual learning environment in Frederick County, supporting kids without access to school meals is so important. This time of year is so full of treats, and one of their most in-demand food items is chocolate pudding. So I am donating some chocolate pudding snack packs to make sure more kids can have something scrumptious!”

If you’d like to donate to Frederick children in need through Blessings in a Backpack, you can easily do so (in a contactless way!) through their Amazon wishlist.

Many food banks across the country have reported an increase in demand this year due to the economic effects of COVID. Now is a great time to help them fill up their supply in time to help people not to go hungry during the holidays. You can find local food banks to give to here (many accept cash donations virtually).

Over the next 8 weeks, we’ll continue to share ways to give that make a powerful difference in people’s lives. If you’re inspired, we encourage you to participate in “8 Weeks of Thanks” too! Who knows: you could just make someone’s day… or year!

We hope that this can be an inspiration to remember how much we have and to spread the gratitude through our communities.

We look forward to sharing our experiences giving over the next 8 weeks, and we’d love to hear from you too! Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!

‘Til next time,
