Pickin’ in the Panhandle Lineup Announced
5th annual BBQ and bluegrass festival attracts local and national talent

Martinsburg, West Virginia:  Get your fill of smoke and ‘grass at Pickin’ in the Panhandle, the WV State BBQ and Bluegrass Festival, September 9-11, 2011.  The 5th annual festival will feature over 25 bands on three stages, the Kansas City Barbecue Society WV State BBQ Championship, and fun for the whole family.

“Pickin’ in the Panhandle has grown each year and this year we’ve added some new attractions that will entice our BBQ and bluegrass audiences,” said Andrea Ball, Festival Director.  “We’ll be adding a third stage that features West Virginia bluegrass artists, music workshops for beginner musicians, and a Tastin’ Tent where our attendees can enjoy samples of the barbecue competition.”

The 2011 musical lineup includes:  Marty Stuart, Dixie Bee-Liners, Confederate Railroad, The SteelDrivers, Trent Tomlinson, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Dale Ann Bradley, Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice, Danny Paisley and The Southern Grass, The Hillbenders, Lonesome River Band, Fitzmaurice, Darrell Webb Band, The Lilly Mountaineers, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, NewFound Road, Shannon Wurst, Back Creek Valley Boys, Stoney Creek, Appalachia, Stacy Grubb, Dry Mill Road, Circa Blue, Half Bad Bluegrass Band, No One You Know, Appalachian Flyer, and Midnight Ryde Bluegrass Band.

Pickin’ in the Panhandle will also host a professional and backyard BBQ cook-off, music contests, arts and crafts, food vendors, the Beer Garden for our guests age 21 and older, and the Kids Korner for our younger audience.  Sponsored by the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Convention & Visitors Bureau, tickets are available at www.PanhandlePickin.com or at the CVB office, located at 115 North Queen Street in downtown Martinsburg.  Weekend passes are $40 if purchased before July 1 [$50 after July 1] and one day passes are $25.  Children ages 12 and under are admitted free with an adult.  Campsites are available for $25 per night and must be arranged through the CVB.  For details about the musical lineup, competitions, or general festival information, visit www.PanhandlePickin.com.  You can also follow the festival on Facebook at www.facebook.com/PanhandlePickin.
