Grand Opening Date Set for Clemson Corner Shopping Center

Frederick, MD: Twenty new retailers are joining Wegmans, Lowe’s and Marshalls at the Clemson Corner shopping center.

On June 25th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the public is invited to visit the anchors, specialty stores and restaurants and take advantage of special promotions and family-friendly activities scheduled for the Clemson Corner Grand Opening celebration. Local bands, children’s entertainers, food vendors and other fun activities will be on hand. WAFY Key 103 will broadcast a live remote from the center.

Merchants at the retail plaza will include: Wachovia Bank/Wells Fargo, Coal Fire Pizza, UPS Store, Massage Envy, Soft Touch Nails & Spa, Bubbles, Music and Arts, Frederick WineHouse, SportClips, GameStop, Frederick Cleaners, Mattress Discounters, Cellular Connections, Yogi Castle, Chipotle, Sprint and My Eye Dr. The majority of these retailers will be opening in conjuction with the June 5th  scheduled grand opening at Wegmans. Bike Escape and Taste of Asia have an anticipated opening this fall.

Clemson Corner is a joint venture between Faison Enterprises and Atapco Properties and includes nearly 400,000 square feet of retail space located at the intersection of US Route 15 and MD Routes 26 and 355.

When fully leased, tenants at Clemson Corner are anticipated to create 1,100 full-time job equivalents.

“We are nearly 100 percent leased for the property which really makes a strong statement about the great mix of tenants and excellent location presented by the Clemson Corner shopping center,” said Drew Gorman, Managing Director, Faison Enterprises.

City of Frederick Economic Development Director said the city is excited about having these new retailers in Frederick.

“Clemson Corner and its terrific tenants represent the strength and depth of the Frederick retail market,” he said.  “Frederick’s population and employment continues to expand, creating strong demand for retail services in the community.  The investment by Faison/Atapco and each of the retailers will generate hundreds of jobs, enhanced property tax revenue, and will provide much needed goods and services in the community.  It is an understatement to say that Frederick is excited about the opening of Clemson Corner.”

One of the major draws to the center will be Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. a major destination supermarket that offers far more than just groceries.  Wegmans store in Clemson Corner features a market café with a conference room, prepared foods, a sushi and vegetarian bar, and numerous other attractions within its 125,000 square feet building.
