George Washington once said, “It is wonderful what we can do if we are always doing”, and we couldn’t agree more.
After much hard work, opening day of West Virginia’s newest children’s museum, for the kids, by George, is finally near.
for the kids, by George, a project of the Washington Heritage Trail, is hosting a Dedication Day Ceremony for May 11, 2013 at the historic Martinsburg Roundhouse, one of the oldest roundhouses in the United States.
The museum targets elementary and middle school aged children, and aims to bring history alive by featuring exhibits that create fun and engaging connections between history and the present day. Exhibits are high-touch, high-sensory experiences with young, curious children in mind.
What else can you expect from the museum?
A lifelike statue of a young George Washington
Amazing train models
a LEGO model of 1920s-era streetscape
3-D bike Simulation Theater, where children power up their bike generator to watch an educational video
Whether you’re a native to the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, or you’re looking for a day trip with the kids, there’s a lot to see, do and learn for everyone at the museum.
We’re really excited to be working on this project, and would like to personally invite you to the Dedication Day Ceremony. Tickets can be bought here and includes brunch, entertainment, a preview tour of the museum and free admission for a future date.
