Frederick County Office of Economic Development

Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) promotes economic growth throughout a county with over 240,000 residents in the capital region of Maryland. The OED team is the point of contact to provide resources and guidance for businesses interested in locating or expanding in the area.


The PR toolkit was implemented in 2013 and continues to serve as a valuable communications resource for the Frederick County Office of Economic Development today. During this time, the office has submitted nearly 600 press releases. This service has become so popular Frederick County OED has increased the size of their subscription since their start in 2013.

The segmenting of lists led to an increased number of clicks and visits to the OED website. A customized/targeted message encourages that particular audience to read the content that is most important to them. Distribution regularity created consistency for Frederick County OED’s brand, which gave the audience an idea of what to expect from Frederick County OED’s services. This increased line of communication also played a role in growing attendance to upcoming events, as well as a greater awareness of where Frederick County stands in the economic landscape.
