JaneMarie’s PR career spans both the private and public sector. With experience in public education for 17 years, she served as the Director of Program Development for a nationwide, non-profit organization in Alexandria, Virginia.
Working with high schools and community colleges, JaneMarie developed insurance programs that taught students how the independent agency system operated. As Director of Communications for a public school system with more than 18,000 students and 30 schools, JaneMarie worked to pass a $96 million school bond during the September 2009 recession in addition to excess levies in 2006 and 2010.
Both positions exposed her to building relationships with local and national media, developing strategic marketing campaigns, website development and management and grant writing. JaneMarie began her career in public relations in London after graduating from college. Among her credentials are a masters of business administration; membership in the National School Public Relations Association and awards from the Chesapeake School Public Relations Association. She was also a finalist for the Panasonic National School Change awards and has received a West Virginia School of Excellence honor. She now continues her public relations experience in these areas with Platinum PR.
